May the Fourth Be With You!
The US National Weather Service of Pocatello Idaho is a great resource for local weather updates.
A couple of reminders for the weekend...
🍃Spring Cleanup's final day is on Monday...get those lawns cleared while our crews are still available to help you dispose of the debris!
👏If you've adopted a storm drain, now is a great time to check to make sure they're free of debris. If you haven't adopted a storm drain, we'd love to tell you more about this program...https://www.rexburg.org/o/cor/page/adopt-a-storm-drain
🚧As construction continues, please slow down around road crews and make sure everyone makes it home safe and sound!
Happy Star Wars Day Rexburg! Bright suns and Rising moons to you and yours.

Spring Cleanup runs from Monday, April 15th through Monday, May 6th.
REMEMBER:
Yard Waste Only
🌳 Leaves, grass, and branches only.
🌳 No household garbage, dirt, sod, rocks, metal, etc.
Keep it under 50 lbs
🌿 Ensure all loads are either bundled or bagged.
🌿 Tie branches no longer than 4ft into 50lb or smaller bundles with strong rope or twine; no root balls or tree trunks.
Place Behind the curb
🍃 Do not place waste/debris in the street or alley for pickup.
🍃 Do not place it near your trash container.

What are you putting in your trash can? Are you aware of items that are NOT accepted in city trash containers?
We want to help keep our sanitation crews safe and we're asking your help! Please refer to our attached graphic and take note of the things that shouldn't be in your regular trash can.
If any of the items mentioned are noticed in your container before or during pickup the driver will pass by without picking up or they will not finish the pickup. There is a $25 charge for them to return at a later time/day and pick up once the unallowed items are removed.
Notice that yard waste is one of the listed items (grass clippings are highly flammable!).
Working on yard cleanup, but don't know where to put the natural debris? We've still got you covered! City crews are doing spring cleanup now through Monday, May 6th!
As always, we truly appreciate everyone's cooperation in keeping Rexburg a great place to live.

ROAD CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:
Parts of South Yellowstone Hwy and University Blvd will remain under construction and will have closures throughout this week!
When traveling through these areas, slow down, pay attention to signs and detours, and allow yourself extra time to reach your destination.
As work is heavily underway at the South Rexburg interchange of Hwy 20, use extreme caution when traveling through the area as crews are very active all throughout the construction zone.
We're excited about these projects bringing improved infrastructure and road safety to Rexburg, but in the meantime, we understand your frustration and we appreciate your patience. We're all holding our breath this summer as road construction means we're all traveling a bit slower.

The Building Department's job is to enforce laws mandating specific requirements for buildings in the City. They have inspectors, plan reviewers, and permit technicians tasked with permitting and enforcing local and state laws for safer buildings. They ensure new and existing buildings operate cost-effectively and provide safe, healthy, and accessible structures for occupancy and use. The department is proud to be a resource rather than an obstacle to contractors, homeowners, business owners, and the public. Thank you, Building Department, for all you do!
