“We stand in the land of beginning again.” — Boyd K. Packer, 1976
Flood 50 is an opportunity to remember the lives forever changed by the Teton Dam Flood, and the resilience that followed. Throughout the week, our community will reflect through documentary screenings, historical exhibits, walking tours, survivor stories, and opportunities to learn more about the events of June 1976.
REMEMBER Flood 50 with:
• Daily showings of Flood of Memories at the Romance Theatre
• Historic walking tours through Rexburg, Sugar City, and BYU-Idaho
• The Flood 50 Exhibit opening at Rexburg City Hall
• Survivor stories and community recollections
• Historical displays and commemorative resources throughout the week
Help us “flood the feeds” and REMEMBER together. Flood 50 begins next Monday, June 1.
Remember | Connect | Serve

Together, they represent one powerful legacy.
Together, we will REMEMBER the stories, lives, and history connected to the Teton Dam Flood.
Together, we will CONNECT with neighbors, family, community events, and the shared experiences that shaped Eastern Idaho 50 years ago.
Together, we will SERVE in the same spirit of resilience, compassion, and community support that emerged in the aftermath of June 1976.
Throughout Flood 50, these three ideas will guide exhibits, films, races, service projects, tours, celebrations, and community gatherings across the region. And we will honor the resilience that endured long after the waters receded.
Help us flood the feeds by engaging with our posts about Flood 50 - like comment & share so all in the community and the region can participate in this once-in-a-lifetime event!

Trash pickup normally scheduled for Monday, the 25th, will be picked up on Tuesday, the 26th.
"We are forever indebted to those who have given their lives." - Ronald Regan

Tomorrow, we're looking for volunteers to help us beautify Rexburg!
Each year, we invite our community to help us plant flowers on Main Street. We call it Flow-Bor Day.
Volunteers will get a t-shirt with this design! Shout out to the Mayor's Youth Advisory Group, who helps coordinate the event!
Plants are provided. We suggest bringing garden gloves and a trowel.
Meet the Mayor & planting crew in front of City Hall at 4 pm tomorrow, May 21st.
Many hands make light work, as they say. We're done by 6!

Rexburg Police Department is hosting an open house and station tours TODAY from 4–6 PM. Come take a look at the current facility and have a conversation with us.
If you can’t make it today:
• Next (and final) open house: May 12
• Town Hall: Saturday, May 9
If those times don’t work, we’re still happy to connect. You can reach out to RPD to set up a conversation or even a neighborhood meeting. 📞 (208) 359-3008

A police facility is a long-term investment in community safety. The proposed station is designed to meet current needs and plan for future growth as Rexburg continues to evolve.
As we head into a busy spring and summer season, we’re looking forward to more opportunities to gather, like the annual Carousel Summer Kickoff each May.
These efforts are only part of the work City staff provide to serve Rexburg, "America’s Family Community."

The Upper Valley SAFE Initiative is offering a free workshop for what every parent in the region needs to know.
Join them and the Rexburg Police Department this Saturday, April 25th, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Madison Jr. High Auditorium.
