K-9 Division

Within the Patrol Division we have three certified K-9 teams. While performing their regular duties as a patrol officer they also aid in specific calls which require their unique skills. Each K-9 team is certified for Narcotics Detection where they are able to detect and locate Marijuana, Methamphetamine, Cocaine, and Heroin.  In order to stay sharp they are training every spare moment they have.

In 2022 Baine and his current handler ranked 3rd in the Detection Novice trail at the Idaho Police Canine Association Conference. His favorite treat is the backseat of his handler's vehicle.

Ozzy

Ozzy joined the department in May 2021 and has been with the same handler since. He is a high energy K-9 who loves his job. He is a Belgian Malinois. As his handler stated, "Ozzy puts more miles in running around in the back of my patrol vehicle, than the vehicle has on it."

Odin

Odin showed potential in being a detection K-9 while at the animal shelter we rescued him from in January 2023. He is a Czech German Shepherd. When not on shift he likes going on hikes with his handler and gardening (tearing up his handler's sprinklers and yard).
