On January 21st, 2025, City Council member, Robert Chambers, presented the 2025 State of the City Address for the Chamber of Commerce's annual event at the BYU-Idaho Taylor Building.
Sugar City and Madison County also led presentations about their jurisdiction areas.
Chambers noted "Rexburg is thriving. According to the U.S. Census, our population is steady at 40,000 persons, though internal projects suggest we may be closer to 45,000 residents. Our population has exploded since the advent of BYU-Idaho. Our unique demographic profile reflects the significant influence of the University. With a median age of 21,
compared to Idaho’s state median age of 37.8, Rexburg continues to
be a vibrant and youthful community."
