Rexburg is prone to winter weather from the months of November through March. That season can extend in either direction yearly. Winter storms create a higher risk of car accidents, hypothermia, frostbite, carbon monoxide poisoning, and heart attacks from overexertion. Fire Hydrant Accessibility
- Having hydrants that can be easily accessed by the Fire Department saves valuable time for firefighters to fight a fire versus finding a hydrant. Hydrants should have three feet, or one meter, of clearance around them whenever possible. Property owners with a fire hydrant located in front of their homes and businesses are responsible for clearing the snow, foliage, and other obstructions away from the hydrants when they clear their sidewalks and/or driveway.
