Responsibilities

The City of Rexburg and Madison County provide fire and medical protection to our community with fully certified Paramedics, EMT's, and Firefighters. 16 full-time employees and numerous paid-call employees maintain emergency staffing 24 hours a day - 7 days a week.

This department responds to approximately 500 fire calls per year ranging from structure, wildland, and vehicle fires, vehicle accidents, and good intent calls. This department also responds to approximately 1,500 ambulance calls per year ranging from medical, trauma, transports, and good intent calls.

We provide continuous protection from three fire stations:

  • Station One is located in the City of Rexburg.
  • Station Two is located in the Townsite of Archer.
  • Station Three is located in Sugar City, Idaho.

Code Red

We invite the public to click on the Code Red link. Code Red is a county wide database designed to call residents in an emergency.

One example would be if a child near your home was reported lost. Dispatch can use Code Red to call everyone in a 1/2 mile radius. Every number in the system in that radius would receive a phone call. After the child is found another call would be sent to inform you.

We invite every resident of Madison County to register their place of residence or business in the Code Red system. Please help to keep Madison County safe by registering your phone number and place of residence.
